This Viognier is rich yet fresh with white peach and floral characters. Elegant but intense on the finish, this wine delights the palate with fresh fruit and complementary minerality.
'Peachy aroma but there's also a chalky note that takes away any expectation of fruit sweetness. On the palate, benchmark Viognier peach and apricot flavours, scented too but not OTT. That chalky texture gives a very slight grip and brings balance to the aromatic intensity on the palate. Delicious and would be a great example of unadorned Viognier for educational purposes. Has weight in the mouth but avoids the potential pitfalls of heaviness or of bitterness on the finish.' Jancis Robinson 16.5/20
We first tasted the Bodega Garzón wines at the Liberty Wines portfolio tasting in January. Not surprisingly, they were at the end of the Argentine table and after a dozen heavy, oaky Malbecs they were a revelation. Perfectly balanced, they were like fine Clarets compared with the proceeding Mendoza blockbusters. The whites are equally good, if not better.
